The Coleman Event Shelter is the original camping shelter and still to this day is the heart of most people’s camping set ups. It’s not surprising that it is the world’s most popular shelter for camping or outdoor use.  Available in three sizes you can choose how much space you need. The smallest of the range is an ample sized 3 x 3m (‘M’) which is ideal for a market stall or to have up in your garden. The next size up is the ‘L’ model which is a bit bigger at 3.65 x 3.65m. The largest and most popular size is the ‘XL’ which gives you a whopping 4.5 x 4.5m of space.

Due to the design of the Event Shelter having very upright walls you can easily utilise every square metre of the shelter and the walls can be purchased separately or all together in a bundle to save you money. Each Wall simply Velcro’s onto the frame and is very upright when attached to give you the maximum amount of space. The bundle includes 3x Sunwalls & x1 Sunwall Door so you can completely enclose the shelter and still have easy access in and out when needed.

The standard event shelter is all about giving value for money so the flysheet is actually showerproof and not waterproof. What this means is in heavier down pours you’ll possibly get a bit of water coming through the seams (as they aren’t taped). Also, the Event Shelter uses a standard 75D material which has a waterproof rating of 1000mm HH. Other high-end features include additional storage pockets throughout the shelter for storing the walls or equipment in and additional roof ventilation to increase airflow and stop the shelter taking off.

All in all, it is a recipe that Coleman haven’t changed for years because it works but if you are looking for a slightly higher spec version of the shelter it is work taking a look at the Coleman Performance Even Shelter.
